Well another morning ritual has been established. As you know Sooty likes to walk around with us as we open up and feed the animals. But we have inherited a sheepdog from Ann's parents called Jip. Obviously Jip also likes to come around with us in the mornings as well. Sooty is a bit wary of Jip and so Ann has to walk about 20 yards in front of me as Sooty walks alongside me. I'm not sure who is the daftest us or the animals.....😂 ...

Well hostilities between Perky and the guinea fowl have not ceased over the Christmas period, no football game was played on no man's land this year.....
Perky has also got another "guest" in her pen in the barn. Speedy one of our hens has now worked out that by going all the way around the barn then hopping onto the top of the wall and down she can make her way into Perky's pen and into the feeding trough an can eat any spare pig nuts.....
The other day I found Perky lying in her straw bed and Speedy was gently tapping her ear Talk about having a death wish. Animals are certainly funny.
Blwyddyn Newydd dda/ happy New Year to everyone and let's hope it's a good one😃

Hostilities are getting worse in the relationship between Perky (our saddleback sow) and the guinea fowl (her neighbours in the barn). Perky now stands in the entrance way and refuses to let them whatever the weather. Quite often over the last few weeks I've found them soaking wet and shivering on the concrete area just outside the doorway with Perky standing there just looking at them and I'm sure the look on her face is one of laughter........ ...

We are now left with 2 piglets, which we are happy with. One is a male and the other is female. We have been thinking of names and have come up with the following best two - Sonny & Cher and Ike & Tina. Of course if you can come up with something better then please let us know.
Last 10 days or so we had a family of wild ducks on our pond. 2 adults and 2 youngsters. At first our ducks were terrified of them but once they got used to them they were all zipping about the pond enjoying themselves.Alas the wild ones have now flown off to their winter home.
Sooty has been busy lately and has taken it into her head to deliver "presents" to our guests, whether they want them or not.....
